Tribu

Newly opened on the Berkeley-Emeryville-Oakland borders is Tribu Cafe, an owner-operated business that aims to serve lunches to the good folk — many of them creative types such as architects and designers — who work in the ‘hood.

Located at 6501 San Pablo Avenue in Oakland, the cafe dishes up mostly organic and home-made food and drinks. It’s already getting rave write-ups on Yelp.

On the day Berkeleyside visited, there was a lemon-chicken soup on the menu, a variety of salads, a feta cheese and red onion pizzeta, as well as fresh-made peach-lemon iced tea. The cafe is having its grand opening on November 20, 5-9pm when finger foods and drinks will be on offer.

The owners are also looking to open a second venue on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley at a future date.
