The pressure is mounting on which gifts to buy for the holidays. If you are inclined to bypass the mass-market consumerist madness, you may be interested to know about a series of craft sales organized by Knit-One-One, a fiber craft studio on Adeline Street in South Berkeley.

For the next three Saturdays Knit-One-One will host craft sales featuring local artisans — there will be a different roster each week, with at least on knitting-related vendor included. This Saturday that will be the Dublin-based Faerie Mountain Fibers.

Among the treats on display:  jewelry, greeting cards, quirky T-shirts, baby gifts and handmade candy. On Saturday December 5 Berkeley author Peggy Vincent will be signing copies of her book Baby Catcher: Chronicles of a Modern Midwife.

While you’re at the studio, check out the class schedule for kids’ winter vacation camps that teach knitting and felting and sewing skills.
