The Berkeley Rep is to host both David Sedaris and David Eggers (left) in the coming months at separate events — and tickets should probably be reserved now rather than wait for later.
San Francisco writer and publisher Dave Eggers (pictured left) will be in conversation with San Francisco Chronicle columnist Jon Carroll on February 1 at the Rep.
Eggers’ most recent book, Zeitoun, has made the best seller lists and his new novel, The Wild Things, is just out. The founder of McSweeney’s and co-founder of 826 Valencia — a non-profit writing center for youth — will discuss his journey, both as a writer and an advocate for aspiring writers, to benefit the financial assistance programs at Park Day School in Oakland. Visit the school’s website for ticket information.
Meanwhile, best-selling humorist and NPR personality David Sedaris will spend the week of June 14-20 at the Rep, honing stories from his next book in front of a live audience. Visit the Rep’s website for details.
