This Sunday, the Addison Street Windows Gallery will host a free sidewalk party to kick off the opening of its latest exhibit, Re-Formed!: Found Object Art. The party is from 1:30-3:30pm, and will feature “live music, a block-long art treasure hunt and sidewalk chalk for artists of all ages” to celebrate the work of five Bay Area artists who create sculptures with found objects.
The Addison Street Windows Gallery, which is always free and viewable from the sidewalk, is a rotating exhibition of local art, with artists ranging from elementary students to professional sculptors. Re-Formed! showcases artists whose work gives new life to materials that have been previously discarded.
The gallery is located on the south side of Addison Street between Milvia and Shattuck, and is a project of the Civic Arts Program of the City of Berkeley in cooperation with the Civic Arts Commission.
