Berkeleyside tries to cover some of the amazing variety of our city, but there are times when we look in wonder at the depth that can be found by real specialists. Today I stumbled across Berkeley, Naturally!, subtitled “a celebration of the natural wonders of Berkeley and the East Bay Hills”.

It’s written by Steven Goodheart, who moved here with his wife after 33 years in New England. We’ve added it to the Berkeleyside blogroll, but it deserves a close look by any reader who has an interest in the nature around us (and how can you live here and not have that interest?).

The latest post looks at landslides and I guarantee that Goodheart’s explanation of what can trigger a landslide will make you far more attentive on your next walk in the hills.
