We reported last week that Berkeley-based solar power start-up Sungevity was moving to Oakland.

It turns out the truth isn’t quite as bleak as we thought. Sungevity is keeping its 6,000 sq. ft. offices on Bancroft Way, which will now become the base for any installations the company does in the East Bay. The new offices, in Oakland’s Jack London Square, will become the new company headquarters.

So chalk that down not as a total loss for Berkeley, but still a diminution of what could be.
