Here are some local ideas for the weekend:

  1. Silent film with live piano: it’s always magical to hear a live soundtrack, and you have the added benefit of an early Yasujiro Ozu film (above).  See That Night’s Wife at the Pacific Film Archive Theater at 7 p.m. on Friday.
  2. Tweet this: go on the winter bird walk with expert birders at the Botanical Gardens. Advance registration required. Starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
  3. Go Jackets: Berkeley High’s boys varsity soccer team is in the NCS quarterfinals against arch-rival Richmond. Kick-off is Saturday at 7 p.m. at BHS.
  4. Chamber jam: they mean music, not strawberries. Sunday at 1 p.m. at The Musical Offering Cafe.

You can find much more on the Berkeleyside events calendar.
