Following the UC Police Department action this morning to disperse hunger strikers in front of California Hall, organizers have called for a rally at 3:30 this afternoon. This morning a small number of protesters joined together to block entrance to the building (see video above).

One of the points of contention between the protesters and the police was tape being used for tents on the pavements in front of California Hall. According to tweeter Callie Maidhof, police have recently agreed that the tents are acceptable so long as they are not fixed to the ground.

At 2:30 this afternoon, some protesters blocked the rear entrance to California Hall.

The Oakland Tribune reports that one of the protesters was hospitalized yesterday after going six days without food.
