Are you out of school but already missing the buzz of work? (Unlikely, we know.) More realistically, perhaps you are looking for some fun, challenging and hopefully fulfilling work experience over the summer.

Berkeleyside is looking to engage one or two interns for the next couple of months. The right person will be passionate about journalism and preferably already have reporting experience, possibly at a school newspaper or website. A knowledge of, and interest in, Berkeley and local news would be an advantage.

Working at Berkeleyside will provide hands-on experience in all aspects of news gathering: including research, interviews, reporting, writing, editing, photography and video. Interns will be given on-the-job training and guidance to help them hone their skills and build their portfolio of published writing.

Budding photo-journalists who would like the occasional assignment should also get in touch.

If you are interested, email with a brief note about who you are, your experience to date, the period you would be available, and two or three clippings if you have them.
