Berkeley police are reporting that a man was shot around 3:26 p.m. today in an apartment building in the 1500 block of Alcatraz, near Sacramento.
The man was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening wounds, Sgt. Mary Kusmiss of the Berkeley police department told Bay City News.
The shooting in south Berkeley took place just six blocks from another shooting on Tuesday, which killed Gary Ferguson Jr. and left another man in serious shape. Police arrested Brandon Wallace, 21, of Bay Point on Tuesday for those crimes.
