If the lack of activity at my polling place is any indication, Berkeleyans need every encouragement to go out to vote today. The polls are open until 8 p.m. tonight. If you don’t know where your polling place is located, the Registrar of Voters has a handy lookup page on its website.
When you do go to vote, you’ll encounter a considerably more complicated ballot than the image above. You’ll have three ballots: one for state and local elections based on a simple majority, one for state and local ballot initiatives, and one for the city offices (councilmembers and city auditor) where ranked-choice voting will be used. Even if you’re confident about how you want to vote (and did you really study up on whether you should vote yes or no on the roster of judges?), there are a lot of lines to be filled out.
