All Berkeley Unified School District schools stand to benefit from book lovers this weekend with a discount initiative offered by independent book store Mrs Dalloway’s.
For those of you organized enough to already be doing holiday shopping take note that, for its School Benefit Weekend, Mrs Dalloway’s will reimburse partnership schools for 20% of the total purchases you make at the store this weekend. The partner schools run the gamut of BUSD schools, from pre-schools to Berkeley High, and also include several local independent schools.
“We want to show our appreciation to the schools that have supported us by buying books from us,” says Ann Whaling, a spokesperson for Mrs Dalloway’s. That means independent schools close to the store, which is at 2904 College Avenue in the Elmwood, are also involved — such as Maybeck and Academy School. Other participating schools include Park Day School in Oakland and Prospect Sierra in El Cerrito.
The School Benefit Weekend runs on Saturday November 13 and Sunday November 14. To ensure the schools benefit from the offer, just keep your receipts and turn them in to your school by November 30.
