It’s been an eventful year for Berkeley and for Berkeleyside. We have no doubt that 2011 will present us with a wealth of interesting stories to cover.
For the moment, however, we’re going to take a holiday breather. We’re not planning to do any new posting on Berkeleyside until next Friday, December 31, when we’ll return refreshed and eager to tackle the new year.
Before we unplug our laptops for a week, all of us at Berkeleyside would like to thank our readers, who provide such valuable feedback, a steady stream of comments on the site, and a healthy proportion of the leads to news that we do our best to follow up.
We also like to thank our advertisers, who are both helping build our Berkeley community and helping us in our goal of making Berkeleyside a sustainable, locally owned, independent business. Our advertisers over the year have been Focal Point Opticians, Keneuoe Vivere Design Studio, Carolyn Jones of The Grubb Company, Moe’s Books, Robert Trachtenberg Garden Architecture, Redfin, Berkeley Arts & Letters, Mrs. Dalloway’s Books, The Ecology Center, Amoeba Records, Sungevity, Buy Local Berkeley, Berkeley Playhouse, M2 Architecture and Design, Telegraph Avenue Merchants Association, Susan Helmrich’s Health and Wellness Matters, Lawrence Berkeley Labs, Alameda Victorians, Goodman Landscape Design, and Berkeley Dining Passport.
We’d also like to thank the many collaborators — writers, photographers, videographers, designers — who have been crucial in helping us expand our reach and our ambitions.
From all of us at Berkeleyside, happy holidays to everyone.
