We’ve had an excellent response from our readers who are interested in business in Berkeley: over 250 of you have emailed us to register your attendance at tonight’s Local Business Forum, which we’re holding in conjunction with the Berkeley Startup Cluster. The Forum will provide participants with a chance to discuss the business climate in Berkeley, share experiences and learn from peers. Mayor Tom Bates is providing some introductory remarks, which will be followed by a conversation with Wired Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson and Autodesk CEO Carl Bass. We’ll then focus more closely on Berkeley-specific issues, with a panel including Councilmember Laurie Capitelli, Michael Caplan, director of Berkeley’s Office of Economic Development; Kat Taylor, founder of OneCalifornia Bank; Amy Thomas, president of Pegasus Books; and Amanda West, founder of Amanda’s.
We’ll of course cover the Forum here on Berkeleyside, but it’s always the case that the live experience is better than the filtered one.
