The San Francisco Mime Troupe is nothing if not colorful — both in its appearance and its message. Its performances are far from silent too: the company’s name refers to “mime” in the ancient sense: to mimic.
Now in its 52nd season, the theater group’s award-winning brand of political satire seeks to bring humor to the absurdities of contemporary life, while addressing their causes.
SF Mime Troupe kicked off a series of East Bay performances of its latest oeuvre, “2012 — The Musical!”, at Cedar Rose Park on July 9. They will be back in Berkeley for more performances; on July 16 at Willard Park; on the weekend of August 13 and 14 at 2pm at Live Oak Park; and on the weekend of September 17-18 at 2pm at Willard Park. All shows are free and open to the public.
