Obi, the Jack Russell Terrier who went missing from his north Berkeley home yesterday, has been found safe and sound.
Owner Kate Farnady picked him up from the Berkeley Animal Shelter after it opened this morning at 11:00am.
“Some kind person picked him up at the Rose Garden
and brought him in to the Berkeley Shelter,” said Farnady. “Another kind person spotted my post on Craigslist and emailed me to say he had seen a post on Petfinder matching Obi’s description. We picked him up this morning and got him micro-chipped! He is home!”
Berkeleyside posted the news about Obi going missing last night. He escaped from the Farnady family’s north Berkeley yard yesterday after some workmen left the gates open.
Farnady thanks everyone for their concern. “We’ve had an excellent response from people wanting to help, just from using Berkeleyside and Craigslist and out neighborhood email listservs,” she said.
At least one Berkeleyside reader was quietly confident Obi would be reunited with his owners. Wilbur W. commented yesterday: “Obi wil be found. The force is strong with that one.”
