Update, 10:35 am: Several people made good guesses, but Leslie hit the nail on the head. This photo appears on the Berkeley Historical Plaques website (well worth checking out for a fascinating trip through the city’s history) and is captioned: “Mr Peet in his shop (ca. 1966), courtesy of Peet’s Coffee & Tea.” The shop, of course, was the original Peet’s on the corner of Vine and Wanut. Congratulations, Leslie, on being this week’s winner!
