Update, Dec. 18, 2:34 p.m.: You’ve all guessed valiantly, but no one has landed it exactly. The answer is peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream at Meal Ticket in Berkeley. Congratulations to reader ‘cornbeefhash,’ who guessed Meal Ticket, but not the dish. (The grape and apple pie, guessed by cornbeefhash, was on the menu at the same time, though.) Hope you’ll look forward to our next contest. As a side note, this dessert was a bit pricey ($6.95, if memory serves), but it was a big portion and distinctively delicious. Cash or check only.
