
This is a partial list of recent crimes in Berkeley based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department, unless otherwise noted. See past crime blotters here. (Note to readers: We always appreciate tips about breaking news or neighborhood safety issues, via email at tips@berkeleyside.com.)
The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From Jan. 24-30, there were 22 burglary reports, 31 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 13 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.com. Three robberies and eight assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Click the previous links for the most current information.
Jan. 24, Thursday
Home burglaries were reported at 8:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Santa Fe Avenue; at 12:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Miller Avenue; at 6:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of Dohr Street; and at 10 p.m. in the 1800 block of San Pedro Avenue.
An auto burglary was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Fourth Street. At 4 p.m. a theft from a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Neilson Street. At 5 p.m. an auto burglary was reported in the 2400 block of Durant Avenue, followed by another at 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of 67th Street, and others at 9 p.m. in the 2200 block of Cedar Street, and in the 2600 block of Virginia Street at 9:40 p.m.
A felony theft was reported in the 2300 block of Shattuck Avenue at 8:30 p.m.
A felony sexual assault was reported in the 2300 block of Warring Street at 11 p.m.
Jan. 25, Friday
Two vehicles were reported stolen, one in the 1500 block of Fourth Street at 6:30 a.m., and one in the 1700 block of Sixth Street at 12:15 p.m.
A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of Keith Avenue at 8:30 a.m. An auto burglary was reported at Milvia Street and Hearst Avenue at 12:30 p.m.
Five home burglaries were reported: at 8:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Sutter Street; at 8:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of Napa Avenue; at 10 a.m. in the 2300 block of Webster Street; at 10:50 a.m. in the 2000 block of Yolo Avenue; and at 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of Keeler Avenue.
Someone at Fairview and Adeline streets reported a gun or weapon at 3:42 p.m.
A felony theft was reported at 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Center Street.

Jan. 26, Saturday
A home burglary was reported at 2 a.m. in the 2800 block of Channing Way.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Francisco Street. At 7:30 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen in the 2700 block of Dohr Street. At 9 p.m., another was reported stolen at Dwight Way and Dana Street.
Five auto burglaries were reported, at 11:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of Addison Street, at 1 p.m. in the 200 block of Brookside Avenue, at 2:40 p.m. in the 800 block of Bolivar Drive, at 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of Haste Street, and at 11:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Brookside Avenue. A theft from a vehicle also was reported, in the 500 block of Neilson Street at 9 p.m.
Commercial burglaries were reported at 7 p.m. in the 2700 block of Webster Street, and at 7:36 p.m. in the 1400 block of Shattuck Avenue.
Jan. 27, Sunday
A robbery was reported at 1:22 a.m. in the 2600 block of Parker Street.
There were three home burglaries reported, in the 2100 block of Dwight Way at 2 a.m., in the 2400 block of Fulton Street at 3 a.m., and in the 1700 block of Carleton Street at 2 p.m.
Four auto burglaries were reported: at Dwight and Fulton at 8 a.m.; at 9 a.m. in the 2800 block of Seventh Street; at 10:15 a.m. in the 2900 block of Harper Street; and at 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of Delaware Street. A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 2100 block of Haste Street at 5:30 p.m.
A commercial burglary was reported in the 1400 block of Shattuck Avenue at 1:25 p.m.
A vehicle was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way at 4:30 p.m.

Jan. 28, Monday
There were five auto burglaries reported, at 1:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way; at 12:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Blake Street; at 5:30 p.m. at Ashby Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way; in the 2400 block of Webster Street at 8 p.m.; and at 10:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Delaware Street.
A home burglary was reported at noon in the 3200 block of Boise Street.
Two vehicles were reported stolen, one in the 1800 block of Berkeley Way at 6 p.m., and one at 9:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Francisco Street.
A robbery was reported at Blake and Ellsworth streets at 9:30 p.m.
Jan. 29, Tuesday
An auto burglary was reported at 7 a.m. at Addison Street and Jefferson Avenue; at 7:15 a.m. in the 800 block of Virginia Street; at 9:48 a.m. in the 1200 block of Carlotta Avenue; at 1 p.m. at Fourth Street and Hearst Avenue; and at 2:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Fifth Street.
At 8:50 a.m., a home burglary was reported in the 1400 block of Parker Street.
A felony theft (over $950) was reported at an unlisted location at 10:45 a.m. Another was reported at 4 p.m. in the 2500 block of Shattuck. A third was reported in the 2300 block of Telegraph Avenue at 8:30 p.m.
A felony assault was reported in the 1400 block of Harmon Street at 3 p.m.
A vehicle was reported stolen from the 2200 block of Shattuck Avenue at 3:12 p.m.
A robbery was reported at 4:25 p.m. at Ashby and Sacramento.
Jan. 30, Wednesday
A home burglary was reported in the 2700 block of Haste Street at 4 a.m. Others were reported at 10:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Oxford Street, at 11 a.m. in the 1400 block of Cornell Avenue, and at 4:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Harmon Street.
Four vehicles were reported stolen: from the 2400 block of Dowling Place at 7 a.m.; from the 2200 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 3 p.m.; from the 1700 block of San Pablo Avenue at 8 p.m.; and at 9 p.m. from the 2900 block of Ashby.
There were two auto burglaries reported, at 6:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of 10th Street, and at 8:40 p.m. in the 2100 block of Blake Street.
