It’s become a tradition here at Berkeleyside HQ to hand over the editorial reins to our readers so to speak for our July 4th coverage.

We are putting the call-out for you to share your July 4th with us. We want to see the many ways Berkeleyans choose to mark this day. Whether it’s sleeping in, attending a parade, getting your BBQ mojo on, taking a hike, hitting the beach, or simply bedding down with a good book.

Last year we collected a collection of wonderful insights into Berkeley’s Independence Day, which included a 2.5 magnitude earthquake, lots of lovely chilling out, including kids in big bubbles at the Berkeley Marina July 4th gathering, and some splendid fireworks. Readers shared poems, photos — even a song.

Share your photographs, emails, tweets, and Facebook posts throughout the day tomorrow (details on how below) and we will publish a round-up story.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
