This is a partial list of recent crimes in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. Thursday, July 11

Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 1:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of University Avenue.

Two misdemeanor sexual assaults were reported, at 6:30 a.m. at Gilman Street and Santa Fe Avenue, and at 1 p.m. at Harrison and Eighth streets. 

A home burglary was reported at 8 a.m. in the 1700 block of Oregon Street.

Two auto burglaries were reported, at 12:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Sixth Street, and at 7 p.m. in the 1700 block of Addison Street.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 5 p.m. at Hearst and La Loma avenues.

Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 5:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Le Conte Avenue, and at 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Shattuck Avenue.

A felony assault or battery was reported at 6:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of 10th Street.

A robbery was reported at 10:50 p.m. at Durant Avenue and Dana Street.

Friday, July 12

A robbery was reported at midnight in the 3100 block of Harper Street.

Five burglaries or thefts from vehicles were reported: at 1 p.m. at McGee and University avenues; at 9:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Eighth; at 6 p.m. in the 2300 block of 10th; at 6 p.m. in the 2500 block of Durant; and at 7:25 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fourth Street.

A home burglary was reported at 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fairview Street.

A gun or weapon was reported at 2:51 p.m. at Alcatraz Avenue and Adeline Street.

Four vehicles were reported stolen: at 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Berkeley Way; at 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Hearst Avenue; at 10:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Dwight Way; and at 11 p.m. in the 1600 block of Shattuck.

Saturday, July 13

Three vehicles were reported stolen: at midnight in the 1600 block of Blake Street; at 4:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Vincente Avenue; and at 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Virginia Street.

Three auto burglaries were reported: at 12:53 a.m. at an unlisted location; at 4:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fourth; and at 8 p.m. at Otis Street and Ashby Avenue.

A home burglary was reported at 4 p.m. in the 3000 block of King Street.

A robbery was reported at 10 p.m. in the 3000 block of Ashby.

Sunday, July 14

A robbery was reported at 2:36 a.m. in the 2400 block of Durant Avenue.

Four home burglaries were reported: at 8:50 a.m. in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way; at 12:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Derby Street; at 2:28 p.m. in the 1600 block of Tyler Street; and at 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of Parker Street.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 4 p.m. from the 1400 block of Bancroft Way.

Three thefts from vehicles were reported: at 5 p.m. in the 1400 block of Blake Street; at 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Allston Way; and at 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of Byron Street.

A commercial burglary was reported at 5:17 p.m. in the 1400 block of Shattuck.

Monday, July 15

Nine thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported; see the list here.

Someone brandished a weapon at 1:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of San Pablo Avenue.

A home burglary was reported at 3 p.m. in the 2800 block of Ashby.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 6 p.m. in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King.

Tuesday, July 16

A commercial burglary was reported at 3:02 a.m. in the 1100 block of 10th.

Five auto burglaries were reported: at 11 a.m. in the 1700 block of Fourth; at 1:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of San Pablo Avenue; at 2 p.m. in the 2200 block of Derby Street; at 6:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of 10th; and at 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of Hearst Avenue.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of Walnut Street, and at 9 p.m. in the 900 block of Indian Rock Avenue.

A robbery was reported at 11:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Cedar Street. Also at 11:45 p.m., a strong-arm robbery — that led to a car chase into North Oakland and the arrest of two people — occurred on Gayley Road, near the Haas School of Business.

Wednesday, July 17

Eight thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported; see the list here.

Four home burglaries were reported: at 8:10 a.m. in the 1400 block of 10th; at 10:58 a.m. in the 1400 block of Stannage Avenue; at 3:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Hopkins; and at 7 p.m. in the 400 block of The Plaza Drive.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 11 a.m. in the 900 block of Gilman Street, and at 10:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Ninth Street.

A robbery was reported at 6:50 p.m. at Cedar and Ninth streets.

A homicide was reported at 6:52 p.m. in the 1800 block of Derby Street; Jermaine Davis was later identified as the victim.

Someone brandished a weapon at 9:34 p.m. in the 1900 block of Shattuck Avenue.
