
This is a partial list of recent crimes in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. See past crime blotters here. The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From July 25-31, there were 19 burglary reports, 24 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 15 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.com. Four robberies and eight assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Click the previous links for the most current information.
Thursday, July 25
Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 12:30 a.m. at Spruce and Rose streets; at 7 a.m. at Franklin and Delaware streets; and at 11:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Allston Way.
Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 5:19 a.m. in the 2300 block of San Pablo Avenue, and at 6:16 a.m. in the 2100 block of San Pablo.
Five thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 6 a.m. at Seventh and Harrison streets; at 6:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of Shattuck Avenue; at 7:50 a.m. in the 2200 block of Ninth Street; at 8:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Cragmont Avenue; and at 5 p.m. in the 200 block of University Avenue.
Two home burglaries were reported, at 2:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of Berkeley Way, and at 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
A robbery was reported at 8:59 p.m. in the 1600 block of Alcatraz Avenue.
A gun or weapon was reported at 11:55 p.m. in the 2400 block of Eighth Street.
Wednesday, July 26
Four vehicles were reported stolen: at 1 a.m. at Henry and Cedar streets; at 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of 10th street; at 4:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Walnut Street; and at 10:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Ninth Street.
Four home burglaries were reported: at 1:45 a.m. in the 2300 block of Piedmont Avenue; at 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of Fulton Street; at 7 a.m. in the 1300 block of Santa Fe Avenue; and at 11:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of 62nd Street.
Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 2:25 a.m. in the 1700 block of San Pablo Avenue, and at 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Durant Avenue.
A robbery was reported at 8:15 a.m. in the 1700 block of Virginia Street.
A gun or weapon was reported at 7:44 p.m. at Shattuck Avenue and Addison Street.
Two thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported, at 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of Le Conte Avenue, and at 9:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of University Avenue.

Saturday, July 27
Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 2:06 a.m. at Durant Avenue and Ellsworth Street.
Seven thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported; see the list here.
Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 9 p.m. in the 2800 block of Ellsworth, and at 11:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of California Street.
Sunday, July 28
Two commercial burglaries were reported: at 12:01 a.m. in the 1700 block of Solano Avenue, and at 4:39 a.m. in the 2800 block of Adeline Street.
A gun or weapon was reported at 1:55 p.m. in the 2000 block of Haste Street.
A felony assault or battery was reported at 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of Woolsey Street.
Monday, July 29
Two home burglaries were reported, at midnight in the 2100 block of Sacramento Street, and at 12:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Ashby Avenue.
A robbery was reported at 6:10 a.m. in the 1700 block of Shattuck Avenue.
Four thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 8:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of Russell Street; at 3 p.m. at Walnut and Cedar streets; at 3:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Shattuck; and at 11 p.m. in the 3200 block of Shattuck.
Four vehicles were reported stolen: at 2 p.m. in the 2800 block of Parker Street; at 3 p.m. in the 2500 block of 10th Street; at 6:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Hillegass Avenue; and at 11 p.m. at Carleton Street and Shattuck.
Police responded to reports of numerous sounds of gunshots near Ashby Avenue and Sacramento Street at approximately 10:47 p.m. Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats said the noises appeared to be related to an incident in Oakland on 61st Street. No victims or property damage were reported in Berkeley.

Tuesday, July 30
One auto burglary was reported, at 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of Eunice Street.
Two residential burglaries were reported, at 5:59 a.m. in the 1600 block of Bonita Avenue, and at 8:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of University Avenue.
Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 9:17 a.m. in the 2600 block of Telegraph Avenue, and at 10:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of Shattuck.
Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 4 p.m. in the 2300 block of Le Conte, and at 6 p.m. at Channing Way and Spaulding Avenue.
A robbery was reported at 4:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Prince Street.
A felony assault or battery was reported at 6:54 p.m. in the 1800 block of Solano Avenue.
Wednesday, July 31
Five auto burglaries were reported: at 7:30 a.m. at Marina Boulevard and Spinnaker Way; at 7:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Ninth; at 11 a.m. in the 1200 block of Addison Street; at 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Seawall Drive; and at 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of Walnut Street.
A home burglary was reported at 5:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Arlington Avenue.
