Cal police seek man linked to 3 indecent exposure reports

The University of California Police Department is looking for a man who reportedly masturbated in front of numerous women on campus Nov. 6. In the first incident, in Unit 3 of the Central Common Building residence hall at 2400 Durant Ave., an 18-year-old female student entered the women’s restroom at 10:45 p.m. and was confronted by the man, who had been hiding. When she entered a stall, he came out, exposed his genitals and proceeded to masturbate, police said in a written statement. The woman fled. Twenty minutes later, a 21-year-old female student went into the same bathroom. As she washed her hands at the sink, she saw the same man, who again had his genitals exposed and was masturbating. She fled and reported the incident to an advisor, who called police.

Twenty-five minutes later, UCPD received a report that a man was exposing himself to a group of female students in the Unit 1 workout room at 2650 Durant Ave. Three teenagers, 17-19 years old, had been working out when they looked over at the window and saw a man standing there with his genitals exposed, masturbating. He walked toward the central building exit doors and left. Police responded but were unable to find him.

The suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to to 6 feet tall, with a medium build, short dark-colored hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie and black windbreaker-type pants.

Police ask anyone with information about these incidents to call the University of California Police Department, Criminal Investigation Bureau, at 510-642-6760.
