
This is a partial list of recent crime in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. See past crime blotters here.
The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, there were eight burglary reports, 22 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 10 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.com. Four robberies and 13 assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Click the previous links for the most current information.

Thursday, Dec. 26
Three vehicles were reported stolen: at midnight in the 1600 block of Dwight Way; at 8 a.m. in the 2200 block of Fourth Street; and at 4 p.m. at Ninth Street and Hearst Avenue.
Four auto burglaries were reported: at midnight in the 500 block of Santa Clara Avenue; at 1 a.m. in the 1800 block of San Antonio Avenue; at 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fifth Street; and at 8:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of Josephine Street.
Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 2 p.m. in the 1200 block of Alcatraz Avenue.
A robbery was reported at 8:27 p.m. in the 2400 block of Shattuck Avenue.
A home burglary was reported at 11 p.m. in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Friday, Dec. 27
A felony assault or battery was reported at 7:50 a.m. in the 2100 block of 10th Street.
Five burglaries or thefts from vehicles were reported: at noon in the 1100 block of Keith Avenue; at 1:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Harrison Street; at 5:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Capistrano Avenue; at 9:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Dwight Way; and at 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Russell Street.
A commercial burglary was reported at 3 p.m. in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 11 p.m. in the 1900 block of Oregon Street.
Saturday, Dec. 28
An auto burglary was reported at 1 a.m. in the 1200 block of Carrison Street.
Two home burglaries were reported, at 1:58 p.m. in the 2200 block of Los Angeles Avenue, and at noon in the 1700 block of Alcatraz Avenue.
A felony assault or battery was reported at 3:12 p.m. in the 2200 block of Bonar Street.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Gilman Street.

Sunday, Dec. 29
A felony assault or battery was reported at 12:19 a.m. in the 1400 block of Sixth Street.
An auto burglary was reported at 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of Dana Street.
A gun or other weapon was reported at 7:46 p.m. in the 2100 block of Shattuck Avenue.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 8 p.m. in the 1500 block of Spruce Street.
Monday, Dec. 30
Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 12:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Dana; at 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Fifth; and at 6:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Sixth Street.
Four auto burglaries were reported: at 2 p.m. in the 2400 block of Dana; at 2:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Carleton Street; at 3 p.m. in the 3000 block of Shattuck; and at 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of Virginia Street.
Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 3 p.m. in the 2300 block of Bancroft Way, and at 5 p.m. in the 600 block of Page Street.
A robbery was reported at 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of Hearst Avenue.

Tuesday, Dec. 31
A gun or other weapon was reported at 1:13 p.m. in the 1600 block of Julia Street.
A misdemeanor sexual assault was reported at 5:39 p.m. at Addison Street and Shattuck.
A home burglary was reported at 8:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Walnut Street.
A robbery was reported at 9:35 p.m. at Hillegass Avenue and Parker Street.
Wednesday, Jan. 1
Three auto burglaries were reported: at 2 a.m. in the 1200 block of Evelyn Avenue; at 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of Russell Street; and at 5:35 a.m. in the same block.
A robbery was reported at 1:38 p.m. in the 1600 block of University Avenue.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Russell and California streets for multiple reports of loud reports in the area, according to Berkeley Police spokeswoman Jennifer Coats. Officers arrived in the area and located several casings near the corner of the intersection. There were no reported victims to the incident. Officers continued to check the area but did not locate an property damage.
