Berkeley police were responding to a report of a man with a gun in the 1900 block of Center Street, according to Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats.
After the stop and investigation, the car’s driver was found not to be in possession of a firearm and was released, Coats said.

Police received a call at 9:51 a.m. Monday that reported a man with a gun in his waistband during a verbal argument. The caller said the suspect left in a vehicle, possibly last seen going west on University Avenue. The caller provided a description and license plate for the vehicle.
Police responded and found the reported car driving west on University, near Curtis Street. The car was stopped near Sixth Street, and at least six police cars were on the scene. In the video, police can be heard shouting for the driver to put his hands up.
