Police arrested a 62-year-old Berkeley man last week after he drove his car while drunk and struck and damaged many parked cars on 10th Street in West Berkeley, authorities said.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, police received a report of a hit-and-run collision in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Virginia Street, according to Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats. The driver struck a parked car and fled the scene, then continued driving and struck several more parked cars on 10th Street.

A witness called police and followed the car until officers were able to conduct a stop near Sacramento and Derby streets.
The driver, Kevin Peter Lynch, 62, of Berkeley was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested on suspicion of that, as well as multiple counts of hit and run, Coats said.
A local resident said that many people have experienced significant losses and are upset.
