This is a partial list of recent crime in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. See past crime blotters here.

The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From Jan. 16-22, there were 13 burglary reports16 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 14 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.comTwo robberies and six assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Thursday, Jan. 16

A felony sexual assault was reported at 2:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of Delaware Street. Police arrested Lowell Ligon at 3:40 a.m. on suspicion of assault with intent to rape, burglary and damaging power lines. He remains in custody without bail at Santa Rita Jail, charged with robbery in addition to the offenses listed above, and is scheduled to enter a plea Jan. 30.

Two auto burglaries were reported, at 7 a.m. in the 1300 block of 67th Street, and at 8:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of Bancroft Way at 8:15 p.m.

A home burglary was reported at 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of 63rd Street.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 3 p.m. in the 1300 block of Fifth Street.

Friday, Jan. 17

Three auto burglaries were reported: at 4 a.m. in the 2800 block of Shattuck Avenue; at 5:07 a.m. in the 2000 block of Fourth Street; and at 5:50 p.m. in the 3000 block of Benvenue Avenue.

A robbery was reported at 5:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Oregon Street.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 8:25 p.m. in the 2200 block of Prospect Street, and at 11 p.m. in the 600 block of Hilldale Avenue.

Saturday, Jan. 18

Three home burglaries were reported: at midnight in the 2400 block of Prospect Street; at 12:15 p.m. in the 3000 block of Halcyon Court; and at 2 p.m. in the 2900 block of Regent Street.

Five auto burglaries were reported: two at 1:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of Dwight Way; at 11:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Durant Avenue; at 1:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Durant; and at 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of Walnut Street.

A commercial burglary was reported at 2 p.m. in the 600 block of Cedar Street.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Walnut, and at 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of Ninth.

Sunday, Jan. 19

A home burglary was reported at 12:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Prospect.

Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 6 a.m. in the 1000 block of Addison Street; at 6 p.m. at Ellsworth Street and Dwight Way; and at 7:30 p.m. at Milvia Street and Bancroft Way.

Monday, Jan. 20

A vehicle was reported stolen at 12:01 a.m. in the 1700 block of Harmon Street.

Three commercial burglaries were reported: at 5 a.m. in the 2800 block of Eighth Street; at 6:39 a.m. in the 900 block of Ashby Avenue; and at 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Second Street.

An attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon was reported at 6 a.m. in the 2400 block of Bancroft Way. According to a notice released by the University of California Police Department, a 27-year-old man had just parked his vehicle on Bancroft when a man approached him, pulled out a knife and ordered the victim to turn over his car keys. According to UCPD, the robber “jabbed the knife towards the victim. The victim defended himself and a struggle ensued.” The victim broke free and went to a safe location where he was able to call police. Police responded and detained the suspect in front of Wells Fargo Bank. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries during the altercation. The man who was arrested was identified as 27-year-old Damian Alexander Patterson. He no longer appears to be in custody according to the Alameda County sheriff’s department.

A home burglary was reported at 11 a.m. in the 3000 block of San Pablo Avenue.

An auto burglary was reported at 3:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of Telegraph Avenue, and a theft from a vehicle was reported at 7:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Roosevelt Avenue.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

A home burglary was reported at 7:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of Bonar Street.

A commercial burglary was reported at 8:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Shattuck Avenue.

Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 3:30 p.m. at an unlisted location; at 6 p.m. at Webster Street and College Avenue; and at 6:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of 66th Street.

Three burglaries or thefts from vehicles were reported: at 5:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fourth Street; at 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of Franklin Street; and at 8:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Acton Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 22

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 1 a.m. in the 700 block of Gilman Street, and at 7 a.m. at Delaware Street and San Pablo Avenue.

An auto burglary was reported at 3 a.m. in the 2600 block of Webster Street.

A weapon was reportedly brandished at 6:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Center Street.

According to the University of California Police Department, shortly before 1 p.m., the person pictured at right “was discovered by a UC staff member” inside 2130 Center St., “wandering through office spaces for no apparent reason. When confronted, the subject provided conflicting explanations for his presence before leaving.” Police ask anyone who sees this person, or anyone else who appears to be trespassing with the purpose of committing theft or other crimes on university property, to get in touch with Detective Harry Bennigson, University of California Police Department
