This is a partial list of recent crime in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. See recent Berkeley crime coverage here.

The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From March 20-26, there were 17 burglary reports26 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 14 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.comOne robbery and 13 assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Thursday, March 20

Two auto burglaries were reported, at 5 a.m. in the 200 block of Alvarado Road, and at 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Francisco Street.

Two home burglaries were reported, at 9:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of Ellsworth Street, and at 4 p.m. in the 2800 block of Parker Street.

A commercial burglary was reported at 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Cedar Street.

Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 5:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of Dwight Way; at 7 p.m. in the 2900 block of Avalon Avenue; and at 11:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Harmon Street.

Friday, March 21

A man accidentally drove into the San Francisco Bay near the Berkeley marina, but was able to get out of his vehicle back to land before emergency crews responded.

Four vehicles were reported stolen: at 4:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Stannage Avenue; at 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of Oxford Street; at 6 p.m. in the 2100 block of Parker Street; and at 11 p.m. in the 1600 block of Delaware Street.

Three thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 6:38 a.m. in the 1000 block of Mariposa Avenue; at 6 p.m. in the 2900 block of Dwight Way; and at 6:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Sixth Street. Police arrested Billy Bailey in connection with the incident on Mariposa on suspicion of parole violation, petty theft with a prior and possession of marijuana for sale.

Two home burglaries were reported, at 8 p.m. in the 100 block of Vicente Road, and at 8 p.m. in the 2100 block of McGee Avenue.

Saturday, March 22

Four thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 9:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of Center Street; at 4 p.m. at Parker Street and Benvenue Avenue; at 6:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fourth Street; and at 7 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fourth.

A commercial burglary was reported at 2:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of University Avenue.

A home burglary was reported at 6:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Alcatraz Avenue.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 7 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fourth.

A felony assault or battery was reported at 11:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of Harmon. Police later said a shooting had taken place.

Sunday, March 23

A vehicle was reported stolen at 12:01 a.m. in the 1600 block of Delaware Street.

Four thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 7 a.m. in the 2700 block of Ninth Street; at 8:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Blake Street; at 11:40 a.m. in the 2700 block of College Avenue; and at 3:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Telegraph Avenue.

Two felony assaults or batteries were reported: at 6:53 p.m. in the 1400 block of Alcatraz, and at 7:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of Durant Avenue.

Monday, March 24

Three home burglaries were reported: at 10 a.m. in the 2800 block of Wallace Street; at 1 p.m. in the 2300 block of Ward Street; and at 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Rock Lane.

A robbery was reported at 2 p.m. in the 1100 block of Park Hills Road.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 5 p.m. in the 1800 block of Delaware Street, and at 6 p.m. in the 2700 block of Channing Way.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of 10th Street, and an auto burglary was reported at 10:30 p.m. at Rose Street and Bonita Avenue.

A felony assault or battery was reported at 9:41 p.m. in the 1500 block of Harmon Street. Police later said it was a shooting, which sent two teens to the hospital.

Tuesday, March 25

Eight thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 12:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Parkside Drive; at 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of Fairview Street; at 7:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Colusa Avenue; at 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Sixth Street; at 8 p.m. in the 2500 block of Parker; at 10 p.m. in the 900 block of San Benito Road; at 10 p.m. in the 2500 block of Parker; and at 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Hillcrest Road.

Two home burglaries were reported, at 3:40 p.m. in the 2400 block of Warring Street, and at 4 p.m. in the 1600 block of Fairview Street.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 7 p.m. in the 2600 block of Durant.

A drive-by shooting was reported in the 2200 block of Bonar Street.

Wednesday, March 26

Three thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 7 a.m. in the 700 block of Heinz Avenue; at 9:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Hillegass Avenue; and at 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Hearst Avenue.

Three home burglaries were reported: at 8 a.m. in the 1500 block of Solano Avenue; at 10:15 a.m. in the 2100 block of Prince Street; and at 4:02 p.m. in the 3200 block of Idaho Street.

Police arrested Damon Lamar Dixon on a warrant for second-degree robbery related to an incident March 5 at 9:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of Eighth Street. According to police, in that incident, a woman was on her way home when three men approached her and took her bag, according to Acting Lt. Jennifer Louis of the Berkeley Police Department. One of them had a metal object she thought was a gun. They were described as black men in their 20s. No further information was available.

Two commercial burglaries were reported, at 6:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of Milvia Street, and at 11 p.m. in the 2700 block of College Avenue.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 10:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Fulton Street, and at 11:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Ellsworth Street.
