
This is a partial list of recent crime in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. See recent Berkeley crime coverage here.
The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From March 27 to April 2, there were 13 burglary reports, 23 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 10 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.com. One robbery and eight assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. Click the previous links for the most current information.

Thursday, March 27
A felony assault or battery was reported at 12:08 a.m. in the 1100 block of Ward Street.
A commercial burglary was reported at 4:19 a.m. in the 1800 block of Fourth Street.
Three home burglaries were reported: at 8:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of Ellis Street; at 12:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Regent Street; and 3 p.m. in the 2200 block of McKinley Avenue.
Six thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 1 p.m. in the 2100 block of San Pablo Avenue; at 3:30 p.m. on Channing Way; at 5:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Fifth Street; at 5:28 p.m. in the 200 block of University Avenue; at 6 p.m. in the 2000 block of Eunice Street; and at 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of Regent Street.
Police put Willard Elementary on lockdown during a search.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 6 p.m. at Walnut and Virginia streets.

Friday, March 28
A theft from a vehicle was reported at 9:08 a.m. at Arch Street and Hearst Avenue, and an auto burglary was reported at 6:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fourth Street.
A robbery was reported at 5:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of Telegraph Avenue. The victim, a juvenile male, was approached by three male juveniles. One punched the victim in the face and took his cash. The suspects fled on foot eastbound on Durant Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries, according to a written statement released by the University of California Police Department. Police were not able to find the suspects, described as three black males. One appeared to be 15 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, and was wearing a blue and white polo shirt and washed jeans. No further description was available of the other two. Police ask anyone with information to call the Berkeley Police Department at 510-981-5900.
Saturday, March 29
Four commercial burglaries were reported: at 5:50 a.m. in the 3000 block of Shattuck Avenue; at 2:10 p.m. in the 2800 block of College Avenue; at 5 p.m. in the 2100 block of Oxford Street; and at 11:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Kittredge Street.
An auto burglary was reported at 10:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of San Pablo Avenue.
A misdemeanor sexual assault was reported at 8:03 p.m. at Bancroft Way and Milvia Street.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of University Avenue.

Sunday, March 30
Five thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at midnight in the 1700 block of Walnut Street; at 12:35 a.m. in the 1400 block of Stannage Street; at 10:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of San Juan Avenue; at 11:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of San Ramon Avenue; and at 8:10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Yosemite Road.
Five vehicles were reported stolen: at 3 a.m. in the 1700 block of Lincoln Street; at noon in the 200 block of University Avenue; at 5 p.m. in the 1900 block of Yosemite Road; at 7 p.m. in the 1900 block of Francisco Street; and at 10 p.m. in the 1700 block of McGee Avenue.
Two home burglaries were reported, at 3:36 a.m. in the 2400 block of Warring Street, and 5 p.m. in the 700 block of Peralta Avenue.
Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 2:50 p.m. in the 3200 block of Adeline Street.
Monday, March 31
A home burglary was reported at 2 a.m. in the 3100 block of Harper Street.
Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 6 a.m. at Allston Way and Shattuck Avenue.
Three thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 8:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of Francisco Street; at 11:08 a.m. in the 2800 block of Prince Street; and at 5 p.m. in the 2900 block of Linden Avenue.

Tuesday, April 1
A home burglary was reported at 7:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Oakvale Avenue.
A theft from a vehicle was reported at 10 a.m. in the 2300 block of Parker Street, and an auto burglary was reported at 5:30 p.m. in the 800 block of University Avenue.
Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 10:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Blake Street, and at 10 p.m. at Sacramento and Russell streets.
Someone reportedly brandished a weapon at 2:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of Hearst Avenue.
Wednesday, April 2
A vehicle was reported stolen at 2 p.m. at Rose and California streets.
Four thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 6 p.m. in the 2800 block of Derby Street; at 8:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of 10th Street; at 8:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of Camelia Street; and 10:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Ellsworth Street.
A commercial burglary was reported at 6 p.m. in the 1100 block of Virginia Street.
