The University of California Police Department has released a composite sketch (left) of a man believed to have committed a robbery in a UC Berkeley family housing complex in Albany in April. On Sunday, April 20, at approximately 1:10 a.m., an armed robbery occurred in University Village in Albany. The victim, a 26-year-old male student, had parked his car near West End Way, not far from his apartment. As the victim was about to put his key in his front door he was approached from behind by a man who displayed a gun. The suspect demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect told the victim to go inside. The victim did not see which direction the suspect fled, but he had noticed a light-colored Toyota Camry parked near his apartment with its lights on and someone sitting in the car. The robber was described as a black male, 25-35 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds, wearing a one-piece, solid dark gray-colored hooded sweatshirt. Police arrested a student on suspicion of unlawful peeking with an electronic device after he allegedly recorded another student in the shower in a UC Berkeley residence hall, according to the UC Berkeley Police Department. According to police, there were multiple incidents and victims who were recorded. On March 15, a female resident at Maximino Martinez Commons said she was in the shower when “she looked up and saw two hands holding a cellphone above her shower stall. The victim screamed and heard the suspect run away.” Then, April 2, the same female “was showering in the co-ed shower when an individual entered the shower stall next to her. The individual did not turn on the water. The victim looked up and saw a cellphone being pointed at her from the next stall. The victim screamed and the suspect fled the bathroom.” Police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Jason Do. According to the Daily Cal, Do was arrested in connection with six counts of peeping with electronic equipment. He no longer is in custody. He is scheduled for an attorney and plea hearing May 22 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in downtown Oakland.
