That male punched the victims, one several times, said Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats via email. One of the victims ran to a nearby restaurant, where the assailant followed him and continued to punch him. The assailant then punched another unknown victim, then fled the area. Both men were taken to a local hospital by the Berkeley Fire Department for treatment. The assailant was described as a white man, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dirty white baseball hat and light or white cargo shorts.
