This is a partial list of recent crime in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. The following items represent a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate.

From Sept. 11-17, there were reports of 19 burglaries23 auto break-ins or thefts from vehicles and seven stolen vehicles, according to CrimeMapping.comTwelve robberies17 assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries and two sexual assaults were reported. Significant incidents from the University of California Police Department included a robbery and three vandalisms. These numbers are subject to change. Click the links above for the latest numbers.

Thursday, Sept. 11

Police responded to two disturbance calls, at 3:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Adeline Street, and at 6:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of 63rd Street.

A business was burglarized at 6:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Shattuck Avenue.

Friday, Sept. 12

There were two robberies, at 2 a.m. at Telegraph Avenue and Channing Way, and at 2:05 a.m. in the 1700 block of Alcatraz Avenue.

Police responded to a disturbance at 2:14 p.m. in the 1500 block of Alcatraz Avenue.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 4 p.m. in the 1900 block of Sixth Street, and at 11 p.m. in the 2200 block of Ninth Street.

There was a felony assault or battery at 4:28 p.m. in the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

From the BART Police: A thief stole a blue Lemond Tourmalet 18-speed bicycle, valued at $450, from the bike racks at the North Berkeley BART station. The bike had been secured with a cable and U-lock at 7:20 a.m. The theft was discovered just before 7:40 p.m.

A motorcyclist involved in a vehicle crash at 8:30 p.m., at University Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, died the following week. Read more on Berkeleyside.

Saturday, Sept. 13

There were three robberies: at 12:02 a.m. in the 100 block of Seawall Drive; at 10:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of Channing; and at 11:35 p.m. at Berkeley Way and Acton Street.

Police responded to three “second response” calls: at 1:04 a.m. in the 2700 block of Haste Street; at 1:50 a.m. in the 2600 block of Ashby Avenue; and at 11:37 p.m. in the 2300 block of Piedmont Avenue.

A business was burglarized at 5:10 a.m. in the 900 block of Ashby.

Two homes were burglarized, at 5:25 a.m. in the 2000 block of Kittredge Street, and at 9 a.m. in the 2500 block of Hillegass Avenue.

Sunday, Sept. 14

Police responded to a call involving a gun or other weapon at 12:42 a.m. in the 1300 block of 67th Street. Police arrested Keith Lamont Davis, a 28-year-old Berkeley resident, on several weapon-related violations, as well as a domestic violence warrant.

There was a commercial burglary at 5:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of Fourth Street.

There was a felony assault or battery at 1:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of Alcatraz. Police arrested Wallace Hill, a 64-year-old Berkeley man, and Odielson Souza, a 36-year-old Berkeley man, in connection with that incident.

Four homes were burglarized: at 4:23 p.m. in the 2400 block of Warring Street; at 6:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of Cedar Street; at 7:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of McGee Avenue; and at 8:17 p.m. in the 1400 block of Keoncrest Drive. Police arrested Simone Burgess, 24 of Berkeley, in connection with the Warring incident.

Via the BART Police: A thief stole a white Specialized Vita Elite bike from the north bike racks at the North Berkeley BART station between noon Saturday and 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The bike had been locked with a U-lock.

Police responded to a disturbance at 10:13 p.m. in the 1900 block of Sixth Street.

A vehicle was stolen at 11:30 p.m. from Dwight Way and Prospect Street.

Monday, Sept. 15

There were three disturbance calls: at midnight in the 2100 block of Kittredge Street; at 12:28 a.m. at Allston Way and Ninth Street; and at 10:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Blake Street. Police arrested Levell Simmons, 26, in connection with the Allston Way incident, on suspicion of possessing burglary tools.

Three vehicles were stolen: at 8 a.m. at 10th and Carleton streets; at 6:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Fourth; and at 8:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of Mabel Street.

Five homes were burgled: at 8 a.m. in the 1400 block of Lincoln Street; at 8:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Dohr Street; at 9:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of Virginia Street; at 10 a.m. in the 900 block of Virginia; and at 10 p.m. in the 2400 block of Ellsworth Street.

A felony assault or battery took place at 8:30 a.m. at Shattuck Avenue and Blake Street, and there was a second one at 9:33 p.m. in the 600 block of Addison Street.

There were four robberies: at 9:53 a.m. in the 2400 block of Ward Street; at 7:45 p.m. at Prince and Ellis streets; at 9:56 p.m. in the 2000 block of Fourth; and at 10:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of University Avenue.

Tuesday, Sept. 16

A felony sexual assault took place at 2 a.m. in the 2200 block of Roosevelt Avenue.

There were four homes burglaries: at 9 a.m. in the 2500 block of Ellsworth Street; at 9:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of Parker Street; at 10:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Wallace Street; and at 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of Shattuck.

Police responded to a disturbance at 1:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Carleton.

Wednesday, Sept. 17

There were three robberies: at 2:25 a.m. at Dwight Way and McGee Avenue; at 2:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of University Avenue; and at 2:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of University.

A vehicle was stolen at 4 a.m. in the 1000 block of Addison.

There were two disturbance calls, at 9:15 a.m. in the 2600 block of Durant Avenue, and at 11:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Ninth Street.

A Pittsburg man who had been arrested in the Berkeley homicide of Jermaine Davis in 2013 was released from custody, with the charges against him dropped, when the prosecution was unable to track down a key witness. Read more on Berkeleyside.

From the BART Police: A thief stole a black 1998 Honda Civic from the North Berkeley BART station between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

A home was burglarized at 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Hearst Street.

From the BART Police: A thief stole a gray Schwinn mountain bike from the north racks at the North Berkeley BART station between 9:15 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. The thief stolen the frame, which was not locked the rack, but left the wheel, which was secured with a U-lock.

There was a felony sexual assault at 10 p.m. in the 2400 block of Piedmont Avenue.

Other notable news

According to the BART police, there was an armed robbery in the North Berkeley BART station parking lot Sept. 19. Police said two juveniles approached the victim, brandished a gun and took a cellphone and handbag. The suspects fled south and officers were not able to locate them. No injuries were reported.

Police reported an increase in auto burglaries around the Berkeley Marina and in parts of West Berkeley. Increases have been noticed in parking lots in the Berkeley Marina, and along Gilman Street and University Avenue between San Pablo Avenue and Third Street. Most of the burglaries take place in the evening, from 5-9 p.m., and involve a smashed window. Police are looking into providing extra patrols, and are reaching out to residents and local businesses to alert them to the problem. Read more on Nixle.

Via the University of California Police Department, an armed robbery: A 33-year-old Cal employee was walking Sept. 9, between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m., near the west entrance to campus at the West Crescent. A male came up from behind and pressed a metal object — which the victim believed to be a gun — into his lower back, threatened him and demanded his money. No physical description was available, other than that the robber seemed to be about 5 feet 8 to 6 feet tall. UCPD has asked for tips about the incident by phone, at 510-642-6760.

UCPD reported the arrest of Edward Clark, 55, in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries on the UC Berkeley campus dating back to July. According to UCPD, Clark was arrested Sept. 9 in connection with a warrant from August. On Friday, Sept. 12, the Alameda County district attorney’s office charged Clark with six auto burglary counts. According to authorities, the burglaries took place at Evans Hall, the Haas School of Business and near other UC Berkeley buildings. Clark did not appear to be in custody as of Tuesday, Sept. 23.
