The Berkeley Police Department confirmed that there was a burglary at the shop, at 1045 Ashby Ave., reported at about 4:10 a.m. Saturday.

Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats said officers were dispatched when the shop’s alarm went off, and found that the burglar had smashed the door with a brick to get inside.

“The suspect stole several thousand dollars worth of cameras and camera equipment,” said Coats. He then fled through the front door. No arrests have been made.

The Berkeley Police Department’s property crimes unit can be reached by phone at 510-981-5737. The department’s non-emergency telephone line is 510-981-5900.
