
Update, Feb. 17, 2:45 p.m. Police said there had been no updates in the case, and that no further information would likely be released today due to the ongoing investigation. Detectives continue to work the case. No further details about the conditions of the victims were released.
Update, Feb. 16, 10:25 p.m. Police further identified the victims as Berkeley residents. The 16- and 18-year-olds received serious injuries. The 19-year-old’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
As of 10:20 p.m. Parker Street was open to all traffic, according to a Nixle alert released by the Berkeley Police Department.

Update, 9:07 p.m. The three victims of Tuesday’s shooting were males between 17 and 19 years old, according to Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats. Two of the teenagers are in serious condition, while the third has non-life-threatening injuries. All three were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Police are still trying to determine how the shooting happened, and have not detained any suspects, Coats said. The teenagers were sitting in a vehicle when the shooting took place.

“We don’t believe it was random,” she said. “Somebody did actually open fire on the vehicle.”
Police started receiving multiple 911 calls at around 7:35 p.m., Coats said, reporting gunfire. Officers are still on scene talking to neighbors and conducting the investigation. The 1100 block of Parker is closed between San Pablo Avenue and Matthews Street.
Update, 8:19 p.m. At 8:13 p.m., Berkeley police confirmed the shooting by issuing a Nixle alert: “The Berkeley Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of Parker Street. We have reports of three subjects injured and transported to a local hospitals. It is still early in the investigation. As we gather more information we will provide an update We ask that you please avoid the area. Anyone with information is asked to call BPD.”

Original story, 8:05 p.m. Police are on the scene at San Pablo Avenue and Parker Street in Berkeley after reports of gunfire, with injuries to three people reported but not yet confirmed.
Several local residents reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at 7:37 p.m. The sound was followed by sirens.
First responders said over the scanner that there were three victims. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Police called for an ID technician to respond to the scene at about 7:50 p.m., and were cordoning off the area with yellow tape, witnesses told Berkeleyside.
