STILE ANTICO The San Francisco Early Music Society‘s 40th anniversary season culminates with a concert by Stile Antico, a celebrated English vocal ensemble, at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the First Congregational Church. After hearing a recording by the group a few years ago, The New Yorker’s music critic, Alex Ross, exclaimed, “Perhaps the most ravishing sound I heard this year.” The concert is dubbed “Sacred or Profane? The Sensual Made Spiritual in the Renaissance,” and includes music spanning 300 years, from “ribald folksongs” to “risqué chansons” to “Monteverdi’s most erotic madrigals” — all turned into religious works. Tickets are $28-56 available online. 4 p.m., Sunday, April 10, First Congregational Church, 2345 Channing Way.

JANET DELANEY Berkeley photographer Janet Delaney, who chronicles the changing urban landscape, will be speaking about her work in this year’s Photo Alliance lecture series. She says it will be a tour of her work, “from the distant past to the near future.” When The New York Times wrote about her work last year, they noted, “While Ms. Delaney depicts a disappearing world, her photographs seem to be gracefully unfolding.” Tickets $10 ($5 students) available online or at the door. 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 8, San Francisco Art Institute Lecture Hall, 800 Chestnut St., San Francisco.

DOGFISH FRISBEE The SF Dogfish professional ultimate frisbee team opens its season on home turf on Saturday: Berkeley High School’s Yellowjacket Stadium. The Dogfish face the Vancouver Nighthawks in a matchup that pits two teams that finished last season 3-7. Both the Dogfish and the Nighthawks play in the four-team Western division of Major League Ultimate. Tickets $15 ($10 students, $5 children) available online or at the door. 4 p.m., Saturday, April 9, Yellowjacket Stadium, 1980 Allston Way.

DMITRI MATHENY Flugelhornist (isn’t it fun to just type that word?) Dmitri Matheny will be celebrating the release of his new album, Jazz Noir, with a concert at the California Jazz Conservatory on Saturday at 8 p.m. Matheny intriguingly describes the album as “a fresh spin on crime jazz, film noir and timeless classics.” Jazz Noir includes familiar movie themes (Chinatown, Laura, Taxi Driver, Vertigo, Stormy Weather), jazz, blues and spoken word. Matheny will be leading the Dmitri Matheny Group, which features Dave Ellis on tenor sax, Matt Clark on piano, Doug Miller on bass and Leon Joyce Jr. on drums. The San Francisco Chronicle called Matheny “one of the jazz world’s most talented horn players.” Tickets $15. 8 p.m., Saturday, April 9, California Jazz Conservatory, 2067 Addison St.

MAKE A MINI MUSEUM You shouldn’t need an excuse to go to the new Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive, but if you’re looking for an excuse and you have children in tow, the museum’s “Family Fare” activity on Saturday looks perfect. “Get inspired by Dada artist Marcel Duchamp’s Boîte, a box containing small-scale replicas of his own artwork.” Led by artist Raphael Noz, children and their grown-ups will assemble an art exhibition from their imagination and make a mini museum. Children 18 and under are free; accompanying adult $12. Sign up at the museum at least 10 minutes before the session. 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 9, BAMPFA, 2155 Center St.
