The cyclist was heading west on Allston Way and the vehicle was northbound on Sacramento Street when the crash took place around 1:40 p.m.

Sgt. Andrew Frankel, Berkeley Police spokesman, said neither drugs nor alcohol seemed to be a factor.
“The driver is cooperating with our investigation,” Frankel said. (Scroll down for more information.)
No further information was immediately available from authorities.
Michael Yamamoto passed the crash just after it happened. The cyclist and motorist were still on the scene at that time.
The cyclist “was on the ground on the median. The car had a smashed windshield when I drove by,” Yamamoto said.
Other passers-by saw the bicycle in the median after the crash.
