Q&As with all six Rent Board candidates follow. We asked why they were running, what sets them apart, what the city’s biggest challenges are and how they hope to solve them. Six people are running for four seats: Nate Wollman (property manager), Alejandro Soto-Vigil (Rent Stabilization Board commissioner), Leah Simon-Weisberg (tenant attorney), Judy J. Hunt (commissioner, Rent Stabilization Board), Igor Tregub (Housing commissioner/engineer) and Christina Murphy (housing coordinator).

The candidates have split themselves into two groups: a four-member team (Soto-Vigil, Simon-Weisberg, Tregub and Murphy) calling itself the “CALI Slate,” and a two-member team (Wollman and Hunt) calling itself the “FAIR Berkeley Slate.” Both sides are urging voters to keep the alliances in mind when they fill out their ballots.
