Update, April 13, 11:40 p.m. Two men remain in custody in connection with the Saturday morning gunfire in Southside Berkeley, according to jail records online: Joshua Trey Kellogg, 24, of Antioch and Carlos Rafael Vallejo-Pineda, 23, whose city of residence was unknown.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of willful discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, buying a firearm without an ID mark, possession of marijuana for sale, the sales or transportation of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance while armed, according to records online. Bail was set at $130,000 for each of them, and they are scheduled for arraignment Monday at the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.

Two other people who had been arrested in connection with the gunfire were later released on citations, BPD said. Their names were not available. Police have not said whether they believe the Friday and Saturday gunfire reports are related.

Original story, April 13, 3:31 p.m. Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, Berkeley Police and UCPD responded to reports of gunshots on the 2500 block of Durant Avenue (near Telegraph Avenue). According to UCPD, four people were arrested and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the report.

On Friday, UCPD received three separate reports of gunfire, including one from the same block of Durant Avenue as Saturday’s gunfire.

Berkeleyside has asked BPD for further information.
