Berkeley Unified’s youngest learners are going back to school on March 29, many in-person, some remote with a new teacher. Whether you are a parent or teacher, Berkeleyside would like to know how your day goes so we can share your stories with our readers.

Check out this back-to-remote-school story by The Oaklandside’s education equity reporter, Ashley McBride, to get an idea of what we might be looking for and how we will approach this story.

We would love to “shadow” you or your child throughout the day, whether you are back in the classroom or remote.

How would this work? Our school reporter, Ally Markovich, could shadow you, while respecting social distancing and COVID-19 protocols of course, in school; or you might be willing to send text or email updates to her throughout your day; or hop on a call or two to tell her how it’s going. A photographer might snap photos or you might send us a few photos. We are looking for input from students, teachers and principals.

Please fill out this form if you’d like to help us paint a picture of how the first day back at school plays out in Berkeley. You can also email Ally directly with any questions at ally@berkeleyside.com.
