The City Council will vote Tuesday night on a plan to merge the Community Health Commission with the Soda Tax Commission.

The soda tax has generated $5 million. It has been invested into programs serving those traditionally targeted by soda beverage companies.

The City Council seems inclined to lower taxes on recreational cannabis, even though nearby cities have the same tax. Keeping it at 10% will discourage teenage use.
