Cityside launches The Oaklandside, sister site to Berkeleyside, built on a foundation of listening
The Oaklandside is the first launch for Cityside, the newly formed nonprofit that is also parent to Berkeleyside.
Tasneem Raja is the editor-in-chief of The Oaklandside and co-founder of Cityside. She was a former senior editor at NPR and Mother Jones, and co-founder of The Tyler Loop, a nonprofit local journalism platform in East Texas. A graduate of the U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of journalism, she helped launch The Bay Citizen and Oakland North.
