Man arrested after stabbing in men’s shelter dining room at Veterans building

A man police say stabbed another man in the abdomen Sunday morning after a fight in a homeless shelter dining room is now in custody at Berkeley Jail, authorities say.

Man, woman stabbed early Tuesday morning at downtown Berkeley BART

A man and woman were stabbed while riding the escalator together from the downtown Berkeley BART station up to Shattuck Avenue early Tuesday morning, BART reports. They are expected to survive.

A man who walked up to a stranger with a large rock and struck him over the head in downtown Berkeley on Tuesday has been charged with hate crime allegations and two felonies.

Three 15-year-old boys from Oakland were arrested Wednesday evening after police say they snatched a laptop from a customer working inside a Starbucks in downtown Berkeley.

The Berkeley Fire Department has responded to a fire on Center Street in downtown Berkeley that caused the evacuation of several buildings and is backing up traffic in the area.
