Update: Shellfish dumping on Jewish UC Berkeley frat being investigated as a hate crime

Hundreds of shellfish — forbidden under Jewish dietary law — were left on Alpha Epsilon Pi’s property and thrown through a window.

UC Berkeley has 47 COVID-19 cases in one week, mostly from frat parties

UC Berkeley has seen 47 new COVID-19 cases, resulting mostly from “a series of recent parties connected to the CalGreek system” over the course of a single week, the university reported Wednesday.

Man shouting about ‘wrath of God’ arrested during fraternity break-in

Residents locked themselves in their rooms while they waited for police to arrive. The man was ultimately arrested on suspicion of burglary and sent for a psychiatric evaulation.

A 21-year-old Santa Monica man who used to attend Cal has been charged with stalking two fellow students — choking one of them at a fraternity in 2018 and later telling her he wanted to rape her, according to police.

Update: Sigma Phi Epsilon has ‘ceased operations’ during Cal rape investigation

The Berkeley Police Department is investigating a rape reported early Sunday morning at a UC Berkeley fraternity. A local resident familiar with the case identified the frat as Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Smoke but no fire found at UC Berkeley fraternity featured in ‘The Graduate’

Firefighters responded to a Cal fraternity Sunday and found smoke but no fire. One young man had a medical emergency while firefighters were there, and was taken to the hospital.
