Emerson school sends alert to parents about man asking child ‘for sex’ at Sack’s

Police increased patrols near Emerson Elementary School in Berkeley on Wednesday morning after a man approached a child to ask for sex at a nearby coffee shop, according to the school principal.

2 men charged with Berkeley, Oakland robbery series

Two young men from Oakland and San Leandro are facing 14 felony charges from a series of robberies at two Berkeley cafés and a bus stop in April, according to court papers. They face charges from Oakland, too.
