Boy, 17, shot during altercation at Civic Center Park in downtown Berkeley

Police have detained one person in connection with the incident, but others remain at large, BPD said.

Berkeley police have now responded to at least 15 confirmed gunfire reports in 2022.

The robber shot through the driver’s windshield and took his necklace when he resisted, according to police.

The initial call came in at 1:44 p.m. and police said they didn’t receive any reports of injuries.

Two residents of a home on 62nd Street in South Berkeley suffered injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

Police responded to reports of a man shot in the leg at 2:51 p.m. Saturday. The victim’s wound is not believed to be life-threatening.
