The much loved neighborhood brunch spot Fat Apples on MLK in north Berkeley was vandalized on Sunday night and several windows were smashed. “It was an act of senseless vandalism and we don’t have a clue why it happened,” said manager Karen when contacted by Berkeleyside.

The restaurant is closed today while repairs are undertaken — Karen said they are waiting for one piece of glass that isn’t currently in stock but they expect to be back in business tomorrow. The crime has been reported to the police.

Meanwhile, the restaurant has posted a notice suggesting customers visit their El Cerrito branch at 7525 Colusa Avenue.
